This workshop is going to be a lot of fun doing all sorts of things Christmassy. As well as the blocks in the images we have traditional designs, but Sinead wants to stretch you a little and show what can be done beyond the conventional.
Using a wide selection of Blockwallah printing blocks and the beautiful paper stocks and cards available in store, explore block printing through pattern and colour. This class will demonstrate printing techniques along with different applications and will prepare you to create your own bespoke printed pieces.
You will go home with at least 5 Block printed Christmas cards, some bags and tags and a variety of printed sheets that can be used for a personal project. But most of all we hope you will be going home with a better understanding of using design in block printing and an enthusiasm and confidence to create your own designs.
Bio:Sinéad is a mixed media artist who enjoys all types of mono printing using wooden blocks, gel plates etc. to create one of a kind prints and then exploring their interaction with other techniques like embroidery and bookmaking. Sinead’s printing work is featured in the book ‘Gelli Arts Printing Guide’ by Suzanne McNeill.
